Ghana and Enyimba goalie Fatau Dauda was left on the bench because of a knock he picked up in the previous game he featured in.

The veteran shot-stopper has been the first choice since moving to Africa’s most populated country with Enyimba.

The 2014 World Cup goalie was however surprisingly left out of the team that won 1-0 over Rivers United on Saturday.

It has now emerged that his omission was precautionary because of the injury he picked up while in post last week.

Dauda is expected to return in between the sticks for the mid-week game with Enyimba looking for back-to-back victories after the win over the weekend.
