RFEF President Rubiales: La Liga has to be completed, it's only fair

Luis Rubiales, the president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), has insisted that the LaLiga season must be completed.

There have been fears over the economic losses that would be caused by an unfinished season in Spain.

"However much is lost, an industry as powerful as football's will always be able to recover it," Rubiales said on Risto Mejide's programme.

"Those that can't be recovered are the losses in health.

"Therefore, we're going to complete the season when the [Spanish] government allows.

"LaLiga has to get finished in this way, it's only fair."

Rubiales refused to comment on the suggestions of his presidential rival candidate Iker Casillas, who proposed pushing next season back until 2021, although he did reference UEFA's deadline.

"It's not right that [Aleksandar] Ceferin has put the deadline as August 3," Rubiales said.
