Richmond Boakye-Yiadom makes debut for Gornik in win over Stal Mielec in Polish top-flight

Ghana forward Richmond Boakye made his debut in the Ekstraklasa for Gornik Zabrze as they recorded a 2-1 win against Stal Mielec on Monday.

The former Red Star Belgrade striker joined the Polish side on a free transfer in the just-ended transfer window.

His first game for the club in the Polish Cup ended in defeat against Rakow.

Aleksandar Kolev scored the first goal of the game for Stal Mielec in the sixth minute of the game.

The first half ended with the away side leading the tie by 1-0.

Gornik came from behind to win the game in the second half with goals from Przemyslaw Wisniewski and Piotr Krawczyk.

Richmond Boakye-Yiadom came on as a substitute in the 65th minute to help his side secure the win.

Gornik is placed fourth on the league table with 27 points after matchday 17.
