Rodrygo making a case for himself at Real Madrid

Published on: 14 May 2021

Rodrygo Goes' inclusion in the Real Madrid starting line-up against Granada came as a surprise to many, but the Brazilian paid back Zinedine Zidane's faith with a good performance.

The 20-year-old forward scored Los Blancos' second goal just before the break in a victory which keeps his side's hopes alive in the LaLiga Santander title race.

Rodrygo's father, Eric, took to social media to post a photo of him at just 11 years of age wearing a Real Madrid shirt, and that same boy signed his first contract with the club just seven years later.

Rodrygo knows that despite the possible changes that will be made at the club this summer, he's set to stay at Real Madrid and will give everything for the side that he joined in the summer of 2019.

The Brazilian, who has a contract until 2025, still has a while to go before he's a guaranteed starter for Los Blancos, but after five assists and a goal in 20 league appearances this season he's certainly on the right track.
