Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng made his debut for AC Milan on Saturday night when they drew 1-1 with AS Roma as both sides remain winless in Serie A so far this calendar year.

A first goal in a Giallorossi shirt for Antonio Rudiger put the hosts ahead early on but Juraj Kucka equalised soon after the break, with neither side able to take advantage of any more chances they were presented with.

Roma were ahead within seconds with Umar Sadiq testing Gianluigi Donnarumma early on after his deflection on a volley went towards goal.

Unable to sort out their back line early on, the Rossoneri went behind after just four minutes from an excellent Miralem Pjanic that found Rudiger, who smashed the ball into the back of the net.

The problems continued and Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men nearly fell to a Rudiger effort again but his header from a corner found the fingertips of Donnarumma who directed it away from goal via the crossbar.

There were several chances for the Giallorossi to double their lead before half-time but they couldn’t capitalise on them and as such went into the break just one goal ahead.

Similar to the first half, the second began with an early goal, but this time it was for Juraj Kucka when he headed home a well-placed Keisuke Honda cross to bring the Rossoneri back into the game.

The Slovakian international had a chance to complete the comeback following a Carlos Bacca dummy after a Rudiger defensive mistake, but Kucka skied the ball from a few yards out.

It was then Bacca’s turn to test the opposing goal but his effort struck the crossbar.

Roma created several opportunities after that, as did Milan, but neither team could finish off a chance or even test the opposition goalkeeper.

The game therefore ended as a draw, leaving Milan in sixth position in the Serie A table with Roma just one place above them.
