Rossi: I have a score to settle with Fiorentina

On-loan Fiorentina forward Giuseppe Rossi says that he still wants his long-term future to be with the Viola, but that he has to play to get back to his best.

Rossi has gone on loan to La Liga side Levante to get playing time after he made just 16 appearances for the Gigliati in the first half of the season.

“I can not wait to play, I came here to play,” said Rossi to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I am ready, my knee does not bother me and I have a huge desire to help out, to help save Levante from this bad situation. I watched a few games, we were unlucky, I’m convinced that we will succeed and survive relegation.

“Why Levante? they were the first team to approach me and I saw it as a good solution, it’s a city and a league that I know well and that I like a lot .

“La Viola mean so much to me, I bought a house in Florence, I get on well with the Florentine people and the Fiorentina fans who have always supported me,

“I have already said it and I repeat it; I have a score to settle with Fiorentina. I really want to play and do well in these four months with Levante and then we’ll see about my future with Fiorentina.”

The Italian international went on to say that he does not blame  Viola coach Paulo Sousa for his lack of playing time and that he’s not yet concerned about playing for the Italian national team.

“No, the coach has made his choices thinking about the team and things are going very well, so he’s right. We have to give him credit. It’s normal that when someone doesn’t play they’re not happy.

“I am the type of guy, who, if you take away the carrot I’m not at my best. I wasn’t happy and I was forced to look for a solution.

“I could not stand playing so little. The opportunity offered to me by Levante will keep me sane. Now the goal is to do well here and get back to Florence.

“The national team? I want to show that I’m capable of playing for Levante and then, maybe with the national team.

“Now I only care about continuity, being physically and mentally ready. The first goal is to save Levante and excite the fans. The second is to have fun playing football because it is the greatest thing in the world. We’ll see about Euro 2016. “
