Ghanaian defender Dennis Appiah is reported to have earned a place in RSC Anderlecht squad following an impressive display in their 2-2 stalemate with Club Brugge in the Belgian Jupilar Pro League on Sunday.

Appiah returned to the first team of the Purple and White lads against the high-flying Club Brugge on Sunday since playing full throttle for the side in their 3-0 win over Waasland-Beveren on December 27, 2018.

Despite the capital-based side's win against Beveren, the Ghanaian right-back was heavily criticized by former coach interim trainer Karim Belhocine for his performance in the match.

The 26-year-old was heavily tipped the head to the exit during the January transfer window after he was relegated to train with the club's second team.

However, the appointment of Dutch coach Fred Rutten seemed to have worked in favour of the former SM Caen defender after he was reinstated into the starting line-up against Brugge.

In the wake of report that first-choice Andy Najar will missing the match against Brugge due to a tight injury he sustained during their 1-0 win at Royal Antwerp last week, coach Rutten opted for Appiah ahead of Alexis Saelemaekers after the Belgian teenager's underwhelming performance in the match.

Appiah signed a five-year deal with the Constant Vanden Stock outfit in 2016.

He has made nine appearances in all competitions for the club in the ongoing season.
