Real Tamale United captain David Abagna on Wednesday evening made his Ghana debut in the friendly match against Algeria.

Abagna played 15 minutes as he replaced injured Fatawu Issahaku in the second half as Black Stars were beaten convincing by the reigning African champions.

He spent most of the time on the pitch chasing the ball as Algeria were in total control.

The attacker is going to Cameroon having been included in Milovan Rajevac's final squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

He is one of five home-based players in the squad following a strong start to the local league.

Abagna is the top scorer with eight goals, inspiring his newly-promoted club into the top half of the table.
