RUSSIA 2018 WC: Ghana group opponents Egypt line up UAE friendly ahead of Black Stars clash

Published on: 17 October 2017

Ghana’s World Cup group opponents Egypt have lined up a friendly with the United Arab Emirates ahead of the last group clash with the Black Stars.

The Pharaohs will take on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in an international friendly on November 9.

The Black Stars will clash with the Pharaohs on November 11 but will play the UAE two days before the Ghana clash.

Egypt have already qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup following their 2-1 win over Congo in the penultimate group game.

Egypt aim at using both matches as dress rehearsals and could be fielding some fringe players since they have already qualified for the World Cup.

The North Africans will be making their first World Cup appearance since 1990, 28 years after making an appearance in Italy.

The Black Stars will play the Pharaohs in Kumasi, a game expected to draw the crowd despite the results being inconsequential to the side that must qualify for the World Cup.
