Tottenham interim boss Ryan Mason has brushed off questions around Harry Kane's future amid heavy speculation the striker could leave the club this summer - but stressed he remains '100 per cent committed' for the rest of the season.

Kane has told Spurs he wants to leave this summer after growing frustrated with the club's lack of trophies, with Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea likely to be among the list of suitors for the £150m-rated forward.

With Mason braced for a flurry of questions around Kane, he insisted he had held no discussions with him about an exit - and insisted there was no 'awkward' atmosphere on the training ground.

'I speak to Harry pretty much every day. He's excited along with me about tomorrow. Our only discussions have been about the game tomorrow. We're looking forward to tomorrow.

When asked if there was an 'awkward' feeling, he added: 'I don't think anything is awkward. There's always speculation around the best players, like there's been speculation around who the next manager will be.'

'He's going to be 100 per cent committed [for the Aston Villa game]. I'm looking forward to seeing him play in front of our fans. He starts tomorrow because he's our best striker.'
