Striker Saddick Adams has confirmed his departure from Asante Kotoko but debunked claims that his fat salary played a factor in the club's decision to terminate his contract.

The former Atletico Madrid forward was part of six players who were released by Asante Kotoko on Friday evening.

The management of the Porcupine Warriors are yet to officially release a statement on reasons behind the 28-year-old's sacking.

However, some fraction of their supporters believe that his bumper salary was one of the main factors he was sacked by the club - a claim which he profusely denied.

"It's true I was called by the Kotoko management to find a club to play, so I'm now on a transfer list of Asante Kotoko," Adams told Nhyira FM.

"There are some hidden stories in the club but I don't want to make it open secret so I'm keeping it confidential."

He added, "About my salary...I will say there are some players who earn more than what I get in a month as monthly salary, that is why I didn't want to disclose my salary to the public. It's never true I'm the highest paid player in the club."

Adams joined the Porcupine Warriors in the second round of last season and went on to bag 10 goals as the side finished 5th on the standings.

He became the toast of the Porcupine faithful during the side's 3-1 win over arch rivals Hearts of Oak in the FA Cup final, where he netted a first half hat-trick.

He was a member of the Ghana U17 squad that finished fourth in the 2007 FIFA U17 World Cup where he bagged four goals.
