Mohamed Salah scored twice as Liverpool beat Everton 4-1 in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night.

The win keeps Liverpool in second place in the Premier League standings, behind Chelsea but ahead of Manchester City. Both those teams also notched victories.

Jordan Henderson gave Liverpool a deserved lead nine minutes into the match at Goodison Park before Salah scored ten minutes later.

Everton pulled one back in the 38th minute thanks to Demarai Gray to give the Toffees some hope going into the break, but Salah padded the lead again in the 64th.

Diogo Jota sealed the win with a goal in the 79th minute.
