The Egyptian star spoke about his team's current position after receiving the player of the month award.

Liverpool's Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah has been voted player of the month for December before he thanked the fans who have always been behind the team and spoke about what the Reds currently need following the unstable form they have had since the start of their premier league campaign.

"Thank you so much, it's a great thing, we just need to win some upcoming games," Salah said.

"The situation is not great now, we just need to focus on each game and to remain united and keep going" the 28-year-old added.

The "Egyptian king" calls on the fans to stay united

Salah ended his speech by thanking the fans "I want to thank the fans so much, everyone who voted for me, we always need to stay together and support the team. I believe that everything will be the way it should"

Liverpool's Egyptian king is now topping the premier league goal scorers chart having netted 13 goals in 18 games even though the Reds have sometimes suffered setbacks in results as they currently lie in the fourth spot of the standings.

The titleholders earned 34 points from 19 fixtures with 9 victories, 7 draws, and 3 losses and are currently trailing Man Utd, Man City, and Leicester City.

Liverpool upcoming fixtures:

Liverpool have two decisive games this week as they are set to take on Man Utd tomorrow in the fourth round of FA cup before they seek to get over the last defeat to Burnley when they clash with Tottenham on 28 January in the 20th round of the premier league.
