Yeboah scores on Beitar Jerusalem debut

Ghana striker Samuel Yeboah scored on his debut for Israeli side Beitar Jersulasem on Saturday night in their 2-1 defeat at Maccabi Petah Tikva.

Yeboah completed a one-year loan spell with the capital club early this week after a difficult spell in the Belgian top flight with RKC Genk and took him little time to adjust.

Nebojsa Marinkovic gave the hosts Maccabi Petah Tikva the lead two minutes into the second half, buthalf-time substitute Yeboah equalized in the 58th minute and renewed Betar’s hopes of finally picking up its first point of the season.

However, Petah Tikva dominated the remainder of the match and took a deserved three points after Ori Uzan scored from the penalty spot in the 76th minute.

Beitar Jersulasem now suffered their third straight loss and will be counting on Yeboah, 2007/2008 top scorer in the Israeli League, to revive their fortunes.
