Sammy Adjei claims he's fit to reclaim Hearts No.1 spot

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Sammy Adjei is confident he is close to recapturing his position in the team.

The 31-year-old returned to training last week after fully recovering from a serious rib injury picked up during a friendly against ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast early last month.

But the ex-Moaden Ashdod FC shot-stopper says he is on the verge of reclaiming his position as first choice goalkeeper.

"I am fully fit and working my way up. I have no doubt that I will grab my number position before the end of the season,'' Adjei said.

"I have been in such a situation like this before and so I’m not worried at all. I’m fighting hard to be in the team that will travel to Aduana.

"The prerogative to use me or otherwise lies with the technical handlers but I remain confident I am on course.''
