Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah has been named in the Black Stars squad for this month's friendlies against Senegal and Mali, his Italian club Sampdoria have revealed, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The 22-year-old has received an invitation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to play in the two matches scheduled to be played in France, an insider at the Italian club has told Ghana's leading football news website.

Acquah looks to have been rewarded for his excellent showing at the recent 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea where he bossed the midfield of the Black Stars.

He was instrumental in the tournament as he helped Ghana to finish second, overshadowing Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure in the final game against Ivory Coast and was named man-of-the-match in the final game.

Acquah and a host of other regulars are expected to maintained in the Ghana squad for the game.

He will be seeking to build on his international statistics with the Black Stars from his current 14 games and a goal for the national team.

Ghana will play against Senegal and Mali in France with games scheduled for Le Havre and Paris.
