UC Sampdoria have officiallt announced the signing of Gonzalo Maroni from Boca Juniors on a loan deal with option to make the move permanent.
Born in Cordoba, Argentina on 18 March 1999, Maroni will spend the 2019/20 season at Samp and has already agreed terms through to 30 June 2024.
“I’m joining a big Italian club and I’ll give my all for this team. I know there have been lots of Argentines who have done well here before me and I just hope to be able to follow in their footsteps,” he told Samp TV in his first interview.
“I have a decent long-range shot on me and I like to be on the ball. I try to get into the box to provide assists and score goals. I hope to have a great season.”
