Former Ghana international Godwin Attram could not hide his disappointment in how Samuel Afum's career has turned out, insisting the ex-Hearts of Oak forward should have been rubbing shoulders with Liverpool star Mohammed Salah.

Afum left Hearts of Oak to join Egyptian side Smouha SC after winning the Ghana Premier League goal-king gong during the 2009/10 season.

The 29-year-old swiftly became an important figure at the club after hitting seven goals before the league was cancelled.

During Afum's three-year stay in Egypt, Mohammed Salah had also burst onto the scene with El Mokawloon but was never close to the exploits of the Ghanaian in the league.

Attram in an interview with Ghanaweb which is yet to be released, intimated that he is often disappointed whenever he sees Mohammed Salah flourishing at the echelons of football when Samuel Afum could have done same considering the immense talent he demonstrated when the two players where playing in the Egyptian Premier League.

The former PSV Eindhoven midfielder played alongside Affum at Smouha Sporting Club before the latter left to sign for Swiss giants Young Boys of Berne.

After three years in Switzerland, Afum returned to Egypt to join Wadi Degla, spending two years at the club before moving to Serbian side Spartak Subotica.

He currently plies his trade in Finland with Ilves.
