Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom believes the Black Stars are still favourites against an impressive Mali side on Thursday at the Africa Cup Nations Cup.

The FC Dnipro ace, who played as a make-shift left-back in their opener on Tuesday, is confident Ghana can secure back-to-back wins.

Despite attesting to the qualities of Alain Giresse's side, the 21-year-old has tipped Ghana to pick the points.

"I respect Mali a lot they are a good team and have quality players as well but I believe that football is a team work and that brings result," Inkoom said after Thursday's training.

"I know it is not going to be easy and we are going to win."

Inkoom was a member of the team which defeated the Eagles in 2009 during the 2010 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
