Sarri: Napoli must start strongly against Torino

Published on: 05 January 2016

Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri has admitted that Torino will pose questions of his side when the Granata visit the Stadio San Paolo in Serie A on Wednesday evening.

The Partenopei will be looking to strengthen their grip on the Champions League places but Sarri acknowledges that Torino are a well-drilled unit.

“Torino close down very well and are a very good team,” Sarri told reporters during his pre-match press conference.

“Two years ago, they qualified for Europe, and last year they fought to the end.

The 56-year-old former Empoli coach believes his side will have to be quick off the mark if they are to counteract the visitors threat.

“Against Torino you need to win the ball as high as possible and close them down very well,” he said.

“We cannot afford to stumble in a match which could take an hour to pick up the pace, so we must start fast.”
