SARRI: "WE ARE PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY READY"

Published on: 21 February 2020

“We're coming into the game ready, both mentally and physically in what is an important stage of the season,” declared Juventus' coach Maurizio Sarri during his press conference on Friday afternoon on the eve of the match against SPAL, on matchday 25 of the Serie A TIM 2019/2020.

“We're not worrying about players picking up suspensions ahead of Inter, we're just focusing on tomorrow's game. We're not thinking about the Scudetto race, just tomorrow's game in Ferrara because this is not yet a decisive period. We're taking it game by game. A 4-3-3 depends on the players that we have available, on a defensive level not much changes. SPAL are different on a tactical level with Di Biagio at the helm. It will be a difficult game as they are playing to stay in the division.”

Sarri then provided a series of updates on his individual players: “Chiellini is fine, he's just lacking the last step. I will field the best team for tomorrow. We'll see whether or not Gianluigi Buffon plays tomorrow. I still need to speak to Filippi [the goalkeeping coach], which I will do so after today's session."

“I'm happy with Cuadrado, both in the defensive and attacking phase. He is a great player. Sami Khedira is further behind Chiellini in terms of physical condition. We will evaluate day by day. Bernardeschi is well and is fine to play, even if he doesn't yet have 90 minutes in his legs. Pjanic is close to returning.”
