US Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi says it was Alfred Duncan’s wish to depart the club.

Duncan left the Neroverdi to join Fiorentina in a €15 million deal on transfer Deadline Day.

According to De Zerbi, his outfit are content with the profit made on the Ghanaian though it was not their idea to sell the player.

“Duncan wanted to go, those who work here every day can be satisfied because if there had never been any requests for Duncan before, and now he is sold, it means good work has taken place, “said De Zerbi in his press conference.

“Duncan’s transfer is an important capital gain for the club. It means he has improved as a player.”

Duncan provided 5 assists and scored one goal in 13 Serie A games for Sassuolo this term.
