Italian-born Ghanaian defender Claud Adjapong has hailed Sassuolo coach Roberto de Zerbi following the team’s all action display during their pre-season training games.

The Green and Black lads have been in scintillating form in pre-season, having scored a staggering number of 18 goals in two games without conceding none.

They defeated lower-tier side Wipptal 7-0 last week before following up with a 11-0 walloping of Real Vicenza on Saturday.

The Mapei Stadium outfit’s form in pre-season has won plaudits from pundits who believe they could achieve higher heights in the forthcoming campaign.

Claud Adjapong who made a second half entry in the win against Real Vicenza, joined the aficionados in lavishing praises on Coach Roberto de Zerbi, who replaced Giuseppe Iachini at the end of last term.

“De Zerbi is a coach who likes to play the ball and this makes things easier for us because in the past we used to play in this way and we really like his way of playing.

Adjapong was asked about his impression on compatriot Kevin-Prince Boateng who joined the club on a two-year deal last month.

“Boateng? He has done a great career and I hope he can give us a great hand because his story is clear, he won the Scudetto and he can help us a lot. Where can we get there? We must understand the mechanisms and at the beginning of the season we will see what we will be able to bring to the field.”

Boateng has scored five goals in two games for the club.
