US Sassuolo have earmarked Godfred Donsah as a summer transfer to replace compatriot Alfred Duncan.

Donsah, 22, joined Bologna from Cagliari in 2015 but his time with the side has been blighted by injuries which has prevented him from playing with continuity.

The attacking midfielder was linked with a move from the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara after finding playing time difficult to come by under former manager Filipo Inzaghi.

According to Il Resto del Carlino, the Ghanaian is being closely monitored by Sassuolo as coach Roberto De Zerbi sees him as a direct replacement for Alfred Duncan who could depart the club in the summer.

Duncan was linked with a move during the January window with former club Inter Milan, AC Milan and SS Napoli reported to have registered their interest but the Neroverdi were firm to quell off all the advances on their prized asset.

However, should the player decide to look elsewhere in the summer, Donsah could find himself moving to the Mapei Stadium as a replacement for his compatriot.

Donsah has played just a game for Bologna in the ongoing campaign.
