Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan believes the Black Stars showed some positives despite failing to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals.

The four-time African champions were picked to the slot from section E by Egypt who have a four-point lead with one match to spare.

Duncan, who plays for Italian Serie A Sassuolo, was a bit-part player in Ghana qualification campaign.

He featured in the 0-0 draw with Uganda last Saturday in Kampala which confirmed Ghana's elimination from the qualifiers.

''Disappointed the race ended early but at least something was learnt.. Unity and commitment will lead us somewhere some day. Come on 🇬🇭,'' Duncan post on his Twitter account.

Duncan has been identified as one of key players in Kwesi Appiah's new team for the future.
