Saudi Arabia flex muscles to make Finals

Fujairah: Saudi Arabia booked their place in the 2019 AFC U-20 Futsal Championship after overwhelming Bahrain 10-3 in the West Zone Playoff at the Fujairah Club Stadium on Sunday.

Mohammed Khalil Marran’s five goals steered Saudi Arabia to a resounding 10-3 victory over Bahrain.

Saudi Arabia got off to a strong start with Mohammed Khalil Marran scoring in the first minute.

Al Qasim doubled Saudi’s advantage in the eighth minute and Alwaleed Mohammed Alharbi made it 3-0 seconds later as Mubarak Ali M Alshahrani's side began to assert themselves in the game.

Al Qasim found the net in the 13th minute and Marran in the 16th before Abdullah Jamal Aldossari’s strike in the 29th minute gave Saudi Arabia a commanding 6-0 lead at half-time.

In the second half, Bahrain replied with goals from Komail Zakareya Hubail in the 22nd minute and Hasan Mohamed Hasan a minute later.

Saudi Arabia, however, were unfazed and continued to pressure their opponents and scored four more goals from Meshari Atif Alobid (23rd), Al Qasim (24th) and Marran (29th, 37th). Bahrain claimed their third courtesy of Marran’s own goal in the 36th minute.
