Scolari did not apply for Ghana coaching post

World Cup winning coach Luiz Felipe Scolari did not apply for the Black Stars, the list of 106 managers who applied for the vacant post has shown.

The Brazil and ex-Chelsea boss was widely touted in the Ghanaian media to been keen on coaching the Black Stars.

But Ghanasoccernet.com has seen the list of 106 coaches who applied for the post and does not include the Brazilian.

But there were several top world-class coaches who slapped in their CVs for the job.

Ghanasoccernet.com will reveal a list of the top ten coaches who wanted the Black Stars job in the coming days.

There were others who were also keen on returning to post while some well known European coaching mercenaries applied for the job.

Five coaches were shortlisted for the post with Serbian Goran Stevanovic’s coaching credential the most impressive among the lot.

Local coach Herbert Addo’s CV look very impressive too having led top club in Ghana and Maranatha Fiokpo of Togo.

Humberto Coelho, who led Portugal to the semis of the European Championship but failed with Morocco and Tunisia was also shortlisted.

Marcel Desailly has no coaching experience while Turkish boss Can Vanli has only coached second and third division clubs in his home country apart from his current exploits in Maldives.
