Vice President of the Sudan FA Eltiraife Ahmed has backed Ghana to beat Zambia for ‘selfish’ reasons.

The Black Stars take on the African champions in Ndola on Saturday haven annihilated Lesotho in the opening 2014 World Cup qualifiers last Friday.

The game however holds a significant interest for Sudan who are hoping to make their first ever World Cup appearance by qualifying from Group D haven also dispatched off the Chipolopolo in their opening fixture.

“We know Black Stars will enter this game as an injured Lion, all of us remember that in Gabon Zambia shocked Ghana when they won 1-0 in the last five minutes,” Ahmed told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

“You can see how the Federation of Ghana are preparation for this game in Ndola. This means they (Ghana) are in South Africa preparing for this game and it shows how serious they are.

“The pressure is now on Zambia not on Black Stars. Black Stars will play normal game after receiving this shock defeat from Zambia.

“Black Stars won, is better for Sudan because Black Stars no play Sudan yet.

“It is better for us after we beat Zambia in Khartoum if Ghana beat or draw against Zambia, it will give us more time to think about how to beat Ghana home and away.”

Ghana currently lead Group D level on points with Sudan but with a superior goal difference.
