Former Ghana coach Sellas Tetteh says he will nominate Asamoah Gyan for the Ballon d'Or Fifa World Player award.

Tetteh, now in charge of Rwanda, told Times Sport that he does not have to think twice about who to vote for because to him, Gyan is top class.

"At the 2010 World Cup, he was simply outstanding. He single-handedly carried the whole nation through to the quarter-finals," Tetteh said.

The 2009 Fifa Under-20 World Cup winning coach handled the Sunderland record signing at Liberty Professionals in the Ghana Premier League before the latter left for Europe.

Tetteh was assistant coach for Ghana when Gyan scored his first World Cup goal at the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany.

He also made it no secret that Real Madrid and former Inter-Milan coach Jose Mourinho was his number one choice for manager of the year.

"Mourinho deserves the accolade. He did what most managers dream of; winning a treble."

"He has not there. He has also transformed Real Madrid."

Mourinho's major contenders for manager of the year include Man United's Alex Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti (Chelsea), Vicente Del Bosque (Spain) and Pep Guardiola (Barcelona).

The winners will be revealed in Zurich on 10 January.
