FIFA U20 World Cup winning coach Sellas Tetteh says he is not surprised Asamoah Gyan successes chalked in football.

Tetteh, who helped grooming Gyan at Liberty Professionals and at the national teams, said he knew the Al Ain striker was bound for greatness.

Since scoring on his Black Stars debut against Somalia in 2003, Gyan has gone on to rake in 42 goals to become the country’s all-time top scorer.

"Asamoah Gyan. I saw him as a great player, he was spectacular, very good, quick feet - even now he's nodding very well like before,” Tetteh told Metro TV Sports.

"(In his) first national cap against Somalia, he scored with the head; he came on as substitute."

Tetteh coached Gyan at the U17 level in 2001 where they were eliminated in the African qualifiers by Kenya.
