Former Ashantigold coach Svetislav Tenasijevic claims ill-treatment of players has accounted for the country's failure to win laurels on the continent.

The Serbian, who claims to have been handed the Hearts of Oak coaching job, wants club officials to treat players well.

"Club Administrators must religiously respect and care about the wellbeing of their players if they are to attain positive results on the pitch," he told Kumasi-based Ashh FM

"The problem I saw in Ghana during my stint with Ashanti Gold is the mistreatment of players by the clubs.

"If the Black Stars and the Ghanaian clubs want to win CAF Inter club competitions, they must treat and pay their  players well so that they can achieve that feat.

"Ghana is blessed exceptional talents. I'm really surprise as to why Ghana can't win the AFCON trophy and the clubs' consistent failure in Africa."
