Sergio Aguero uses brilliant Man City moment to reinforce safety message

Sergio Aguero treated his Instagram followers to a rerun of his most iconic Manchester City moment as he reminded everyone to stay at home.

Footballers are doing their bit to try to help in the global pandemic. That can be anything from financial help - with the Premier League confirming on Friday that clubs are in discussions with players over a 30 per cent pay cut - to simply setting the right example for people to follow during this extraordinary time.

City players have been sharing the government message to stay at home, and there are renewed concerns this weekend in the UK because of a promising weather forecast.

Aguero replayed the finale of City's famous match with QPR in the 2011/12 season when they dramatically won the title with two injury-time goals to remind his fans that they should not be tempted to go outdoors.

"Fighting until the end always has its reward," the caption read, with City teammates Ederson, Eric Garcia, Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva among those liking the post as well as former Blues Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott.

While the Premier League is still determined to complete the 2019/20 season when it is safe for football to resume, Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker have been among the voices to suggest that it would be understandable if the campaign had to be cancelled given the uncertainty that currently surrounds sport and society.
