Sergio Ramos trains ahead of Sevilla clash

Published on: 04 December 2020

Sergio Ramos trained at Valdebebas on Friday, providing some hope that he might be able to feature against Sevilla on Saturday.

The Real Madrid suffered an injury for Spain against Germany in the most recent international break, causing him to miss the matches against Villarreal and Alaves in LaLiga Santander as well as the Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk.

His presence on the training field does not guarantee he is fit to play, however, and coach Zinedine Zidane mentioned in his pre-match press conference that he would not risk his captain.

Mariano Diaz was unable to train with his teammates on Friday, although the club has not mentioned if it is due to an injury.

Nevertheless, Zidane welcomes back Karim Benzema who has recovered from his injury, as well as fellow striker Luka Jovic, who tested negative for COVID-19 and is available for selection.

Alvaro Odriozola is also fully recovered, and is expected to make the squad for the trip to the south of Spain, while Dani Carvajal continued to train separately and will most likely miss out.

Fede Valverde and Eden Hazard remain injured and will be unavailable for the game against Sevilla.
