A product of the Bordeaux youth academy, much like the Blues’ other top target in Jules Kounde, Aurelien was approached by many teams in the summer. But a transfer did not materialise, with Monaco persistent on keeping hold of their prized midfielder, though it appears they might have to loosen their stance as time progresses.
The Old Lady have already stepped up their pursuit of the French midfielder, which might be good news for Aston Villa as it will force them to part ways with Weston McKennie. The American midfielder has recently emerged as a priority winter target for the Villans.
As far as Aurelien is concerned, the 21-year-old midfielder’s rise to prominence over the past year or so has been nothing short of extraordinary.
