SERIE A - Luis Alberto edges closer to Lazio exit in January

Published on: 27 October 2021

Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto is edging closer to leaving the Biancocelesti in the January transfer window.

This comes from Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that Maurizio Sarri’s comments about the lack of possibility of Alberto and Sergey Milinkovic-Savic playing together has caused frictions between the manager and the Spaniard recently.

The ex-Liverpool midfielder has showed indolence in training too, with the relationship with the manager having broken down.

Lazio had managed to keep the player in the summer despitte the midfielder having missed training for several days and the club had expressed the willingness to consider any offers that come around.

Alberto was keen on moving to Milan or Inter and even wanted to follow Simone Inzaghi to Inter, but the move never came about.

Now, it isn’t impossible that Luis Alberto leaves in January. The club’s asking price was €40 million earlier but they can accept offers of a lesser value now. Clubs in Spain are interested and things could move on that front.
