Serie A quartet chase Zenit defender

Juventus, Inter, Roma and Genoa are reportedly all throwing their hats in the ring for Zenit Saint Petersburg defender Cristian Ansaldi.

The Argentine impressed last season whilst on loan with the Rossoblu and the 29-year-old’s exploits have reportedly garnered the interests of several Serie A clubs.

According to Il Secolo XIX, Genoa have made a bid of between €2.5m-€3m in order to prolong their relationship with the player, while the Nerazzurri have reportedly made an increased offer of €3.5 million but his parent club consider the fees unacceptable, demanding at least €4 million.

Juventus are on the market for alternatives to Stephan Lichtsteiner, who appears set for a move away while Roma are searching for a full-time right-back, as Alessandro Florenzi was forced to deputise for much of the last campaign.

The former Atletico Madrid man made 24 Serie A appearances for the Rossoblu this past season, splitting time between right-wingback and centre-back.
