SHOCKER: Charles Akonnor snubs in-form Medeama goalie Ofori Antwi in "family and friends" call-up

Medeama goalkeeper Eric Ofori has been shockingly left out of Ghana's squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan later this month to spark controversy.

The 25-year-old had been tipped to make the cut following his breathtaking performances for the Mauve and Yellows this season.

But Ghana coach Charles Akonnor has opted for Hearts of Oak's Richard Attah which has sparked claims of bias, favouritism and practical nonsense of merit.

Antwi has been the best goalkeeper in the West African nation, spearheading Medeama's campaign on the domestic front.

He has been the most consistent for the past three seasons but has shockingly been left out in the cooler.

The statistics weighs largely in his favour without a shred of doubt but the gaffer has opted to balance the scale by calling up a player of Hearts of Oak after calling Kotoko's Habib Mohammed.

The exclusion of the former Asante Kotoko and Amidaus Professionals last line of defense has sparked anger in Tarkwa- home of Premier League side Medeama.

Ofori Antwi has featured for the Black Satellites, Black Meteors and the Local Black Stars - and many viewed his call-up was to be a natural progression for the shot-stopper.

But new Black Stars coach Charles Akonnor appears to be following the old twerk of calling up old foxes.
