Nigeria Coach Samson Siasia has pleaded to the Ghana team to spare him defeat in Tuesday’s international friendly in order to save his job.

The latest installment of the West African derby takes place at the Vicarage Road in Watford three days after the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations while their opponent’s, the Black Stars sealed an impressive passage to next year’s finals.

And with Nigerians still seeping in the massive disappointment, Siasia wants to win the friendly to help ease the pressure for him to be sacked.

"I can't believe what I have been hearing from the Ghanaian press. I gave Ghana a lot to entertain themselves with,” he said.

“It is not easy to make sure a team like the Super Eagles miss out on a big tournament like that. They(Ghanaians) want to beat us again? For what?

The Super Eagles are chasing their first win against Ghana in over four years and Siasia seem not confident of his side's ability to turn the tide.

"These fans are ungrateful. I gave them an entertaining afternoon and it is time for them to pay me by letting me keep my job.

“I hope the players we meet on Tuesday will have mercy on my team and not increase the unemployment rate"
