Despite his excellent form for Atletico Madrid before the break in the season, it looks as though Felipe is going to have to patient when LaLiga Santander restarts.
Diego Simeone is set to revert to the centre-back pairing that started the season at Atletico of Stefan Savic and Jose Gimenez when they face Athletic Club on June 14.
The pair played together in defence for the first six matches of the campaign, with Atletico conceding just four goals in that time.
However, injuries broke that partnership up, allowing Felipe to stake his claim for a starting place and his form has seen him become untouchable in the XI.
After his summer move from Porto, Felipe took a while to get up to speed and now, after a long break, there are doubts over whether he'll be ready to go when LaLiga Santander returns.
As a result, El Cholo is expected to opt for Savic and Gimenez for the trip to San Mames, with Mario Hermoso also due to miss out.
