Sissoko insists Mourinho is 'the future' of Tottenham & the squad are happy

Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko insists the squad are happy with Jose Mourinho in charge, describing the manager as "the future" of the club.

Mourinho enjoyed a promising start to life in north London after replacing the sacked Mauricio Pochettino, cutting the gap to fourth to a point.

But injuries to Harry Kane and Heung-min Son blunted Mourinho's attack and Tottenham find themselves eight points off the Champions League spots with the season on pause to coronavirus.

Sissoko has praised Mourinho's "fresh" approach but is keen not to disparage Pochettino's achievements after over four years in charge.

“We're happy with Mourinho. He brought a new freshness," Sissoko told Europe 1.

"We aren't going to spit on what Pochettino did, he brought the club to a new level, but now our future is Jose Mourinho."

Spurs are expecting to have both Kane, Son and Sissoko back from injuries should the league season resume.
