Sporting Director of SK Brann Rune Soltvedt has stood on his ground regarding Gilbert Koomson's future, saying his outfit are keen to keep the Ghanaian despite receiving plethora of enquiries about him.

Koomson has been heavily linked with a transfer to newly promoted Turkish SupaLiga side Erzurumspor following his impressive performance for the Norwegian outfit this term.

Last week, the 26-year-old failed to turn up for training with his side and did not get seek the permission to skip the daily schedule with his club.

He rendered an apology to his teammates following his absence from the team's training grounds.

Despite returning to training, Koomson has reiterated his desire to continue his career elsewhere.

However, Soltvedt, who is the sporting manager at the Bergen-based side, has suggested that they keep the highly-rated forward beyond the current season.

"The situation is that he has a contract until next year. There have been inquiries about him, but we want to have him here. That's probably what I can say about it."

Koomson has netted eight goals in 17 matches so far this campaign.
