Southampton reignite interest in Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu

English side Southampton are back in the hunt for in-demand Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu, GHANAsoccernet.com can report. 

The Saint are ready to splash 10 million euros for the services of the talented centre-back.

The 21-year-old has been on the wish list of the many European sides after impressing on his debut season at the Spanish side.

Salisu has fitted in so well after replacing Fernando Calero, who was sold to Espanyol last summer.

The Ghanaian has played 30 games in La Liga, scored a goal and provided an assist.

Everton, Newcastle and Norwich City are three other English clubs who have been linked to Salisu.

In November last year, Diario de Valladolid reported the centre-back had emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United.

The player’s agent is the father of United player Juan Mata.

Salisu's contract at Valladolid runs through until 2022.
