Spain U-17 coach David Gordo has tipped Nicholas Williams, a brother of Athletic Bilbao star forward Iñaki Williams, for greatness.

Williams, 17, has been promoted to Bilbao’s second team for the 2020/21 season after impressing at the lower ranks.

The youngster has been touted for a dream pair with elder brother, Iñaki at Bilbao’s attack in the near future.

Spain U-17 coach Gordo has analyzed the attackers and what they could both contribute to the offensive set up of Bilbao if they played together for the Basque side.

“It would be a very good couple,” said David Gordo in an interview with the newspaper As. Goals.

“Athletic’s style of play would do them a lot of good,” added the coach, who knows Nico Williams very well, having coached him in the Red’s lower ranks.

Questioned about what type of player Nicholas Williams is, Gordo only had good words about the youngster.

“He is very powerful, with a speed to do a lot of damage to rivals.

“He has good physical characteristics which is very similar to his brother and then technically not bad at all.

“He is 17 years old and must continue to improve, but I promise him a great future,” he explained.

The Spain U-17 coach further admits that Nicolas Williams is one of the brightest spots among a generation of great youngsters.

“The little Williams is one of the highlights of a “very good” generation.

“It is not good to mention individual names because it is a collective sport, but we had a very complete team on all lines.

“Very good goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders or forwards.

“To give names, we have Carlos playing in Second B with Sevilla, Nico at Athletic, Jesús Vázquez playing the Youth League for two seasons. I could make a list of 15-20 high-level players,” explained David Gordo.
