AmaZulu FC claim La Liga side Espanyol have expressed interest in their Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Mensah Darpoh.

The Spanish club want to strengthen their squad with the addition of talented defensive midfielder during the summer transfer.

This was revealed by AmaZulu FC team manager Qedi Dlamini to the Daily Sun in South Africa.

"There is something from Espanyol. It is their wish," he said.

Last week, the 21-year-old extended his contract with Usuthu for another three years.

Darpoh was promoted from the club's academy in the 2016/2017 season and has gone to make 28 appearances.

The former Okwawu United youngster has made 13 appearances in all competitions for Usuthu this campaign.
