Spanish FA are committed to financially supporting Spain's lower leagues

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) are committed to helping out Spain's lower leagues with finances during the coronavirus crisis.

Clubs in the Segunda Division B and Tercera Division rely heavily on gate receipts and, without matches being played, many are already in financial difficulty.

"We have to be careful, we'll have news soon, but we're not going to let any club die," Jose Angel Pelaez, the president of the Segunda B and Tercera Commission at the RFEF, told Radio MARCA.

"There is always help, measures or regulations that will protect the clubs."

With Spanish residents currently being told to stay in their homes, there are doubts over whether the season can be completed at all.

"This could go on for a while, no one knows still," Palaez noted.

"The ministers were speaking about 12 weeks and that's three months, but we'll have to see if the measures of containment are enough.

"Although the curve is rising, all of Spain is at home.

"I'm a fan of finding the right solution.

"If you're asking my opinion, I would like the leagues to be completed because they have to be completed.

"What I can tell you is that Luis Rubiales will announce measures about the situation in the coming days."
