Ghana forward Mohammed Fuseini has disclosed that using his pace is not one of his biggest assets, despite being aware that he has a lot of pace to burn.
The 22-year-old versatile player has had a great start to life at Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, where he has been playing since the beginning of this season.
Fuseini said he was encouraged by his coaches to make use of his pace during his time at the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana.
He moved from Right to Dream to Sturm Graz B, and a loan spell at Randers in Denmark last season earned him the transfer to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.
“When I was very young in the academy I used to dribble a lot, but then my coaches used to tell me that I'm fast so I should make sure I use my speed. That's when I figured out I was really, really fast,” he told Flashscore.
He added: “So from there I just started running a lot. I don't think it's one of my biggest qualities, but I think I'm also dynamic. I can also take players on.
“You need to think whilst you have the ball. You can't always run around. When you run too fast, you won't be able to think that much.
"So you just have to make sure you are calm when you are running and make sure you think whilst you are running with the ball or without the ball.“
In eight league games this season, Mohammed Fuseini has scored three goals and provided one assist.
He has featured in nine games for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise across all competitions, although he was sent off in his Champions League debut for the Belgian Pro League club.
