SPEZIA: OFFICIAL PRESENTATION OF ALBIN EKDAL, MATTIA CALDARA AND DANIEL MALDINI

Published on: 10 August 2022

The presentation conference of the three new players of Spezia Calcio was held today at the 'Bruno Ferdeghini' Sports Center: Albin Ekdal, Mattia Caldara and Daniel Maldini.

The first to speak was the number 8 Albin Ekdal: "The impact with the team has been very positive, the guys are full of enthusiasm and desire to prove their worth. Things are going well, we are working very hard to get ready for Sunday.

My personal goal is to work as much as possible and help the team get results. The goal of the team is to play a good football in front of our fans, reach salvation as soon as possible, and above all have fun.

The coach has a lot of experience, he is quiet and clear on the pitch, and he explains things perfectly. I have very positive feelings about it and the group is following its directions to the fullest.

I played twice at the 'Picco' and I lost both times, it's a very welcoming stadium with very loyal fans and I can't wait to play in front of them wearing the Spezia jersey.

On Sunday I expect a tough game, but we are motivated, we have worked hard to be ready and it will be a good challenge, we hope to win it."

Mattia Caldara, who will wear the number 29, continued: "I did the last part of the training camp with the team and I think a good job has been done, both physically and tactically. The coach has given us his idea of the game and we are working well. The Italian Cup match against Como helped us to put more minutes on our legs, but there are still some things to fix to make us ready for the start of the championship.

On Saturday on the pitch I immediately understood how important the 'Picco' is for us, it must be our fort and salvation must pass from there.

My personal goal is to have continuity and try to improve last year's performance, while the team goal is to reach salvation as soon as possible."

To close the presentation the number 30 Daniel Maldini: "It was nice to score again at the 'Picco', but the most important thing was to pass the round of the Italian Cup.

The support that is at the 'Picco' is very welcoming, and for now, it is a stadium that has brought me luck, I am very happy and I can't wait to get on the field again.

The guys on my arrival were very helpful and helped me immediately to get in tune with them.

The first championship match will be very hard, no one will want to lose points at the beginning, it will be a war and we hope to bring home the victory.

My personal goal is to do my best, and my team goal is to reach salvation and get as high as possible."
