Spezia reject offer to sign Kevin-Prince Boateng, still looking for suitors

Newly-promoted Italian top-flight side Spezia have turned down an offer to sign Kevin-Prince Boateng after Fiorentina approached them over their Ghana star.

The Florence side are desperate to offload the Ghanaian players to reduce their wage bill and also avoid the player leaving for free.

Boateng has been declared surplus to requirements by the Serie A giants and will not feature in their plans for the new season.

Italian newspaper La Nazione has now reported that Spezia coaches refused to take the offer to sign the former Ghanaian international as they have no immediate need for his services.

Boateng, 33, is desperate to get a new club too after he was released early by Turkish side Besiktas where he spent last season on loan with the Istanbul-based side.

His contract with Fiorentina lasts until June 2021.
