Sports Minister Kofi Adams has revealed why the Black Stars' budget for their recent games against Chad and Madagascar was kept under wraps.
According to Adams, disclosing the budget would have been a distraction to the team's preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
In an interview, Adams explained that he was hesitant to release the budget because it wouldn't have added any value to the team's performance.
"People were asking me to disclose the budget for the games, but I kept asking myself what the budget would do for the team ahead of the games?" he said.
"Sometimes, some situations create distraction for the team, so we would weigh every situation before making a decision."
The decision to keep the budget private seems to have paid off, as the Black Stars secured impressive wins against Chad (5-0) and Madagascar (3-0), putting them in a strong position to qualify for next year's World Cup.
Ghana currently leads Group I with 15 points from six games.
