Sports Ministry says there's no cash to invite Ghana U23 foreign legion for All Africa Games
The Sports Ministry has told handlers of the Ghana U23 team that there is no budget for foreign-based players for next month’s All Africa Games in Brazzaville, Congo.
Head coach Malik Jabir wants to hand up call-ups to players overseas to strengthen his side for the football tournament at the multi-sport event.
“The ministry told the Ghana FA that there is no money to fly in foreign-based players so the team will travel to Congo without them,†a source close to the tea told GHANASoccernet.com.
The Black Meteors are in a tough Group alongside Senegal, Egypt and Nigeria in Group B.
Ghana are bent on winning a second consecutive gold medal after beating South Africa on penalties for that historic feat in Maputo four years ago.
